Our First NBA Bets! - 3 Bets, 3 Sides - 8/5/2020

Game 1: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Lakers

  • Bet 1: 1.5% wager on LA Lakers -6 @ -110 odds

We are very excited to bring you our first NBA bets under the Phull Plate name! First up, of course we had to go with LeBron, AD, and the Lakers. In the last two years, these teams have played six times and in those games the Lakers have gone 4-2, including winning the last three. The Lakers just came off a big win against the Jazz, something they needed after losing to the Raptors and only scoring 92 points. We expect them to ride that momentum and beat a Thunder team by more than 6 points with no issue; something they did last matchup with ease.

Game 2: Toronto Raptors vs Orlando Magic

  • Bet 1: 1.5% wager on Toronto Raptors -6.5 @ -110 odds

The defending champs strolling in against the lackluster Orlando Magic. This should be a cakewalk, let us hope that the Raptors take this seriously and do not even let the Magic gain any momentum during the game. The Raptors are 30 games over .500 and that is WITHOUT Khawi Leonard, while the Magic sit 4 games below .500. Hell, give the Magic 20 points to start this game, if you know what we mean. Toronto has won 6 games in a row 4 before the COVID break and 2 since the restart and the last 2 wins have been against stud teams in the Lakers and the Heat. The Toronto Raptors have won 7 games in a row against the Magic including playoffs and each win was by 5 or more points. Yea, let's go ahead and lock this in, please.

Game 3: Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics

  • Bet 1: 1.5% wager on Boston Celtics -8.5 @ -110 odds

A lot of Philly blood on the Phull Plate roster that does not like the Boston Celtics, but fandom CANNOT get in the way of taking a good bet. We will say the Brooklyn Nets have been scoring at will in their first 2 games, beating the number 1 ranked Bucks with 119 points and scoring 118 points the game before. For awhile there in 2016, 2017, and 2018 the Nets could not touch the Celtics, but the teams are way different. Brooklyn has now taken 4 of the last 6 from Boston, but 3 of those 4 wins were very tight. We expect Boston to bounce back in this head to head matchup and take care of the Nets, who are an under .500 team, while Boston is 21 games above .500. We cannot wait to see how our analysis and NBA models hold up in these bets; enjoy the games!
